Let's be ready to ride at the Old Rexville Grange, aka Rexville-Blackrock Amphitheater, at 9:45 for the orientation discussion and SMART talk, after which we will depart at 10:00. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.

General route:  Rexville Grange to La Conner, over the Swinomish Channel to Snee Oosh and Reservation roads, over Highway 20 to March Pt Rd to Highway 20 bridge over Swinomish Channel and back to Rexville Grange via the Skagit Flats/farming fields.

This ride is 28 miles mostly flat to gently rolling, with two hills of about 400 feet each thrown in.

Why you could/should do these rides

  • You are a beginning rider who is new to Cascade Bicycle Club Free Group Rides but you have been doing some training and can handle a couple of hills.
  • You are seeking a scenic, stay-together, low-traffic ride out in the country.
  • You may (like your ride leader) have built some base miles and are ready to go a bit longer and climb a bit more.
  • Maybe you are planning on doing the Fall MS ride.  We ride a portion of that route.

We will pass several potential water/food/potty locations and will stop if requested.

This is a "occasional regroup"  ride, i.e. no one will be left behind.   However, better conditioned riders may shoot ahead on hills. Nevertheless, these riders will be expected to re-group at the top of a climb after their "break away".

You must pre-register by clicking the red "Register Now" button above.  Please un-register if you decide not to attend in order to free a space for another rider.

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Cancellation: Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.

Feel free to call me with any questions.

We hope you can join us!
