Join us for a social scenic ride from Magnuson Park on an approximate 23 mile route at Steady pace (12-14 mph on the flats).
Our route is a collection of some of the "best of" places to visit on a bike in Seattle from the Ship Canal northward. Starting in Magnuson Park, our itinerary will include Green Lake, views over Golden Gardens and Shilshole, the Ballard Locks (we'll walk our bikes through there per the Army Corps of Engineers), Fisherman's Terminal, the eclectic Fremont District and the University of Washington campus. This is a mentoring ride for Richard Kobylka.
Let's meet at the Magnuson Park (Parking area W6) and please be ready to ride at 10:00 am. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup regularly as we plan to make stops at various viewpoints. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).
Restrooms are available at the start. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water at the Ballard Locks at approximately mile 12.2. If the weather is favorable, we may elect to stop for a brief snack and coffee break at Fisherman's Terminal at mile 13.6.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!

Free Group Ride - June 3rd
I registered myself and 2 more family members. Could you confirm that all 3 of our registration went through? Zita, Rush and Judit Velcsov? (Instead of Rush I registered David).
Registrations
Judit - there are 3 of you registered as Velcsov's - Judit, David, and Zita. However, I am sending you separately a note to clarify a question I have.
Thx

Wait list questions
Unfortunately we don't have any tools by which we could maintain a wait list. As volunteer ride leaders, we don't control who can sign up for the rides. I hope something works out this week for those riders wanting to join us.
As a follow up request, we hope all the registered riders are able to join us. However, we know "life happens" and sometimes plans go awry. When you do know you won't be able to ride, please go ahead and cancel your registration spot. We can only take registered riders who have electronically signed the waiver. See you all on Saturday!
