Directions: from Bothell Way NE turn onto 96th Ave NE and right into the Wayne Park Bothell dirt parking lot. Parking is free.
Join us for a ride from the Wayne Park Bothell on a 26.8 mile route at a leisurely pace of 10-12 MPH!
Join me on a fun and scenic counter-clockwise loop ride that starts out on the Burke Gilman Trail heading west to the U-district, transitioning to the SR520 Bridge and returning on Kirkland roads with a few hills. We'll stop for coffee late in the ride in Kirkland.
Let's meet at the Wayne Park Bothell at 10:00AM for our pre-ride safety briefing with a departure after that's done.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup occasionally.
A portable toilet is available at the start. We can stop along the way for restrooms/water at mile 7.5 at Matthews Beach Park. We’ll also stop for coffee/snacks at Carillon Pt Starbucks at mile 19.3.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Have at least one full water bottle and carry with you. Newcomers need to have a bicycle in good working condition (working brakes and gear shifters). Helmets are required!
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions (eg: extreme heat) or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!

Windy this morning with 13mph
Windy this morning with 13mph forecast for Seattle -- wil that effect ridng on the bridge?
Wind
Nancy, it will probably be windy on the 520 bridge. I rode across it a week ago and it was windy. The rest of the ride should be ok.
Will the wind affect riding
Will the wind affect riding stability on the bridge?
Wind and Riding
Nancy, the wind will slow us down if we are riding against it. There won't be enough wind to affect riding stability.
