PIE RIDE:  We will ride north on the Burke-Gilman Trail, merging onto the Sammamish River Trail, to the Hillcrest in downtown Bothell.   We will take time for a sweet or savory break at the bakery(ies).  Other choices east along Main St. are the Countryside Doughnut House, the Sushi Zone, the Ranch Drive-In and Alexa's Cafe.  Baskin and Robbins is across the street. Coffee is available at all locations and at "Social Grounds Coffee & Tea Co." just north of the bakeries, We will stay for about 20 to 30 minutes, weather permitting and then return to Matthews Beach. Helmets and a functioning bicycle are required.  Depending upon the business, they may take cards only, cards and cash, so be prepared with cards and cash if you intend to make a purchase.

Foul weather contingency:  If the weather in Bothell is iffy, we may alternately detour to the Northshore Senior Center(NSSC).  Entry to the NSSC per the NSSC website is contingent upon the following:  "In alignment with local government mandates, vaccinations or proof of negative COVID test results will be required for all guests and visitors effective 10/25/21. Masks are still required for everyone. Bring proof of your vaccination."  Please be prepared to follow the NSSC guidelines for this option.

Route:  Come, have fun, converse and enjoy this social bike ride along the Burke Gilman Trail.  The terrain is flat. 

Cue sheets:  No cue sheets provided. Stay together ride. 

Fenders: If the riding surfaces are wet, please come equipped with fenders long enough to keep the person riding behind you dry or be the caboose.

Ride start:  We meet at the Matthews Beach parking lot.  Please be ready to ride at 12:00.  We will start with a required safety briefing and roll out when that's done.  If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.  Note:  Water and restrooms are available at the start.  Be prepared if you have a mechanical problem e.g. flat tire.

Register:  Please sign an e-waiver by clicking on the “Register Now” button at the top of this page (right below the ride title) and enter your information.

Parking:  Free parking at Matthews Beach parking lot. Arrive early to beat the seagulls for a good spot.

Weather cancellation: - Steady showers or more severe weather(ice or snow) will cancel the ride.  Ride cancellation will be announced in the comments section at least two hours before start time and the ride leader(s) will not be at the start.
