Eastside Hills #20
If you are new, please read our newcomer information.
Another week another Eastside Hills.. Let's see if we can catch a break in the weather again and complete this doozy of a ride!
Join us for a ride from Kirkland Transit Center (between the Library and the park) on a 50 mile route at vigorous pace - 20mph on the flats.
This week's route includes a number of hills in Kirkland, Bellevue and Woodinville including Clyde Hill, Novelty Hill, and Brickyard road.
Let's meet at the Kirkland Transit Center between the library and the baseball field. Please be ready to ride at 9:00am. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup at the top of sustained climbs. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).
Restrooms are available at the start. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water/food at mile 26 at the Novelty Hill QFC .
Bring a spare tube (or two!) and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If there is steady rain or unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. During the ride we will tolerate light rain or brief showers, but if we encounter heavy rain we may return early.
We hope you can join us!
