Ride Description:

Join us for a ride from Gas Works Park on a 18 mile route at leisurely 10-12 mph pace.

We will cycle on west portion of Cheshiahud Lake Union Loop to South Lake Union Park. After exploring the park, we will head to Seattle Center to view holiday lights and the art at the Climate Pledge Arena.  Google Climate Pledge Arena and pull down Art at the arena to get a preview of the art.

We will stop briefly for a photo op on the overpass to the Elliott Bay Trail. Cycling the flat Elliott Bay trail leads us to our only major climb to scenic Magnolia and Discovery Park before descending back to Gas Works Park. Leader has an e-bike, but participants will climb at their own pace. Hopefully participants will be pleased with a coffee/snack stop a Petit Pierre Bakery, a must stop for this leader.

Let's meet at the Gas Works Park and please be ready to ride at 9:45am. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done.  If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.

We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to stay together. Restrooms are available at the start. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water at 7 miles on Elliott Bay trail.  We’ll also stop for coffee/snacks at Petit Pierre Bakery at 10 miles.

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.

We hope you can join us!
