This is a history ride to visit and learn facts about various historic and interesting sites in the Duwamish Valley and around the Duwamish River.
We will meet at the east end of the parking lot between the playground and Starfire complex building at Fort Dent Park (6800 Fort Dent Way, Tukwila, WA 98188). Bicycle access is just off the Green River Trail. Parking can be found in the adjacent parking lot. Transit access includes King County Metro Bus route 150 (Interurban Ave S & Fort Dent Way stop) about half a mile away.
Please be ready to ride at 9:00 AM. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that’s done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.
There are a total of 12 stops on this ride during which the ride leader will give some details about the history/geography/etc. for a couple of minutes. We will take a restroom & water break at South Park Community Center (mile 8.7), a coffee/snack break at Portside Coffee Company (mile 16.6), and a restroom & water break at Georgetown Playfield (mile 18.8).
Please note: due to all of the starts/stops, this ride is expected to last around 4-5 hours.
