TREATS: Pavement and Gravel trails on the eastside
If you are new, please read our newcomer information.
Join us for a ride from Woodinville Sports Fields Parking lot on a 31 mile route at steady pace, 12-14 MPH on flat terrain.
We'll ride on the Sammamish River Trail (paved) and then on the Cross Kirkland Corridor travel (gravel). The gravel section is about six miles long, gently downhill, and hard-packed. It is rideable on a road bike. I have ridden it easily on 700 X 28 tires, but will have my gravel bike for this ride. We'll swing through Bellevue, and catch the 520 trail to the Marymoor Trail, stopping for lunch at Blazing Bagels. We'll cross Redmond, pick up the Sammamish River Trail and ride on back.
Let's meet at the Woodinville Sports Fields parking lot (across the street from Wilmot Gateway and the bike trail) and please be ready to ride at 9:45 AM. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup occasionally. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).
Restrooms are available at the start and along the trail in Kirkland at about mile 10.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
