Free Group Ride
Ten Hills of Kirkland
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Join us for a ride of ten great hills, starting from downtown Kirkland! The total distance will be 50 miles and we'll ride at a vigorous pace (18 - 20MPH). This ride is perfect for those who think the Seven Hills of Kirkland route isn't hilly enough - so we added three more hills for good measure. This will give your legs a good workout and should be a fun ride.
Let's meet at the Kirkland Transit Center at 8:45 for our pre-ride safety briefing, with a departure at 9:00. The Kirkland Transit Center is next door to the Kirkland Library. The library parking garage has four hours of free parking.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup at the top of each hill. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).
Restrooms are available at the start. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water at miles Kingsgate Safeway at about mile 28.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
