Jacquie & John's Queen Anne, Magnolia adventure
If you are new, please read our newcomer information.
Magnolia and Queen Anne have lots of fantastic roads and viewpoints. We will visit some of the best on our adventure. Highlights are Fisherman's Terminal, Discovery Park, Magnolia Bluff, Ella Bailey Park, Lynn Park, Bhy Kracke Park, Kerry Park, Centennial Park, and more. I will be leading with my wife Jacquie on our tandem. We ride on the high side of moderate. This is a very hilly ride with the steepest roads well over 10 percent. Please load the route to a Garmin or phone if possible (posted below) and preview the route.
Please note: During COVID-19 restrictions, all Free Group Rides are limited in the number of allowed participants. Registration for the ride (using the red “Register Now” button above) is REQUIRED to participate. If you decide not to ride, please click the red "Cancel My Registration" button above so that an additional spot will be made available to another.
Face coverings (for mouth and nose) are required when the group makes extended stops. Face coverings are recommended for the duration of the ride. Please bring personal hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes and tissues for use at rest stops.
We will observe current social distancing guidelines when off the bike, and strive to maintain at least 10-12ft separation between riders when on the bike.
Join us for a ride from Fisherman's Terminal on a 21.3 mile route at High Moderate 16 on the flats!
Let's meet at the Fisherman's terminal South side of the building at 5:45 for our pre-ride safety briefing, with a departure at 6:00 sharp.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup frequently at turns or hill tops. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).
Restrooms are not available at the start and no restroom stops are planned on the course.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Also bring lights to be seen by.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
