Ride Description:

Please note: During COVID-19 restrictions, all Free Group Rides are limited in the number of allowed participants. Registration for the ride (using the red “Register Now” button above) is REQUIRED to participate. If you decide not to ride, please click the red "Cancel My Registration" button above so that an additional spot will be made available to another.

Face coverings (for mouth and nose) are required when the group makes extended stops. Face coverings are recommended for the duration of the ride. Please bring personal hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes and tissues for use at rest stops.

We will observe current social distancing guidelines when off the bike, and strive to maintain at least 10-12ft separation between riders when on the bike.

Join us for a weekly ride from the Lynnwood Transit Center! The intent is to ride weekly with longer and more elevation as we go through the season and the days become longer.

Due to COVID, the ride leaders are not able to help fix problems on the road; please make sure your bike is in good working order by having it checked by a local bike shop. Please also make sure you have a properly fitting helmet, working tail light and a headlight as we may be getting back right at sunset. It is recommended to bring water and a jacket for rain, wind or cold; bring a cell phone that you can call to get picked up if you have a mechanical that is too much to repair on the route (we will wait if you can fix it, but it is not a good situation for others who may be getting cold waiting.

Please meet at the transit center at 5:45 for our pre-ride safety briefing and ensure you are ready to ride; we will depart at 6:00 pm. A picture of the transit center is in the attachments of where to meet; there will be another Cascade NERD pace group meeting in another area of the P&R, so if unsure when you pull up, ask the ride leader and they will direct you to the right start. There may also be another non-Cascade group in the north east parking lot (Lot A); they are great too and if you ask them they will point you to the correct group.

We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to stay together with stop at safe points to regroup if we get separated..

There are no restrooms at the start so please be prepared. A restroom will be available along the route.

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat and make sure you know how to use them (please watch the YouTube video in the link at the bottom). Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.

This ride is set up for 10 people due to COVID and if you find it is full when you go to sign up, please leave a comment that you would like to ride and if there is enough interest a second group will be considered based on ride leader availability.

We hope you can join us!

Comments

I know your group is full at this moment.  But Could you take one more?

I have a friend who came all the way from L.A. to visit me  and I thought I had time to ride with him on Thursday. Just realized that I have to work O.T. on that day.

Thanks for your understanding

Best regards

Cascade does not have a waiting list on their ride list. The only way you can get on if it is full is to try and see if someone drops. Sorry.

During COVID, Cascade's policy is that we can only have 10 people for the group including a ride leader. If someone drops and you are able to pick up that spot then the person could ride. Sorry.

The weather forecasts for tonight are mixed with one saying the rain will hold off until after the ride and one saying a small chance of rain during the ride. I am not planning to cancel as when I have in these situations it tends not to rain. If it is raining slightly at the start we will decide whether to cut it short or finish the planned route. Please bring a rain jacket to carry and also have fenders. The fenders need to be long enough to protect the person behind from being sprayed. A buddy flap is a great way to make that work. If you do not have a fender I may ask you to ride in the back in order to keep the group safe by not having spray on the rider behind you.

See you tonight.
