Rain or Shine/Renton-Maple Valley Starbucks
If you are new, please read our newcomer information.
Please note: During COVID-19 restrictions, all Free Group Rides are limited in the number of allowed participants. Registration for the ride (using the red “Register Now” button above) is REQUIRED to participate. If you decide not to ride, please unregister for this ride so that an additional spot will be made available to another.
Face coverings (for mouth and nose) are required when the group makes extended stops. Face coverings are recommended for the duration of the ride. Please bring personal hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes, and tissues for use at rest stops.
We will observe current social distancing guidelines when off the bike, and strive to maintain at least 10-12ft separation between riders when on the bike.
Join us for a ride from the Renton Library (across from fire station) on a 24.5 mile route at moderate pace at 14-16mph!
That's right, you heard it! If we have rain or shine on Saturday we are riding!!!!
Please Note: The 1st mile or so on the trail has a 10-12 mph speed limit. WE WILL TRAVEL AT THAT SPEED
For the most of the time we will be on the Cedar River Trail. The only part that we will not be on the trail is at the very beginning and when we climb the only hill on our ride. Our rest stop/mid way point will be at the Maple Valley Starbucks! We will ride back the same way!
Let's meet at the start at 10:45 to get ourselves ready and to listen to our pre-ride safety briefing, with a departure at 11am.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to stay together. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).
Restrooms are not available at the start. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water at our mid way destination at Starbucks (mile 12).
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
