Knock Off Early on Friday & Ride UP to GH ! (University Place to Gig Harbor)

Please note: During COVID-19 Phases 1.5 and 2, all Free Group Rides are limited to six total participants: the Ride Leader and five others. Registration for the ride (using the red “Register Now” button above) is REQUIRED to participate. If you decide not to ride, please unregister for this ride so that an additional spot will be made available to another. Please register by 2pm on the day of the ride. 

Face coverings (for mouth and nose) are required when the group makes extended stops. Face coverings are recommended for the duration of the ride. Please bring personal hand sanitizer,  disinfecting wipes and tissues for use at rest stops.

Finish off - or put off - your work, knock off early and join us for a ride over the Tacoma Narrows Bridge and into Gig Harbor!  (Scenic route linked below).  We'll meet in front of the University Place Library at 3:40 for introductions and pre-ride safety briefing and start the ride at 4. If you are coming by car, there's free parking available in the parking garage. Our start and end location is near Bliss Small Batch Creamery  -  optional post ride ice cream in the plaza  (plenty of room to spread out). 

This is a no-drop, social ride! We will climb and descend hills at our own pace and will regroup after hills and before turns if we are spaced out. 

Helmets are required. We should be done before dark, but please have front and back lights on your bike, just in case.  Other items to bring: spare tube, tire levers, pump or cartridge, ID, a charged cell phone, cash/credit card, water, a small snack.  Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group. Also, as mentioned above, please add Kleenex, hand sanitizer and a face covering to your "stuff to bring on a ride" supply list. 

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
