Ride Description:

Please note: During COVID-19 Phases 1.5 and 2, all Free Group Rides are limited to six total participants: the Ride Leader and five others. Registration for the ride (using the red “Register Now” button above) is REQUIRED to participate. If you decide not to ride, please unregister for this ride so that an additional spot will be made available to another.

Face coverings (for mouth and nose) are required when the group makes extended stops. Face coverings are recommended for the duration of the ride. Please bring personal hand sanitizer,  disinfecting wipes and tissues for use at rest stops.

Join us for a ride from Log Boom Park on a 9 mile route at Moderate 14-16mph pace! We will finish the ride with a scenic descent of Perkins Way. Our goal is to ease back into our group rides with our fellow riders and maintain good social distancing skills during these trying times.

We will minimize using the Burke Gllman and take a few residential streets to get from Log Boom to the top of Perkins.

Let's meet east of Log Boom Park at 10:45a for our pre-ride safety briefing, with a departure at 11 AM. LOOK FOR THE GOLD MERCEDES STATION WAGON WITH A BIKE RACK ON TOP, EAST OF THE PARK ALONG NORTHEAST 175TH STREET.  Please leave parking lot parking to park users.

We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to stay together.  We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).

Restrooms are available at the start. We will NOT stop along the way for restrooms/water.

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.

We hope you can join us!

I am looking forward to starting the first "Post-Covid Shutdown" ride this morning. If you make it the first 2.5 miles of climbing, the rest is flat to downhill!
