Join the FRUMPS as we ride from Woodinville to Redmond, Kirkland, and back. We'll take mainly back roads, as well as a few main roads with bike lanes/shoulders as we ramble east and south to Redmond, over Rose Hill and Bridle Trails area to south Kirkland, and climb Juanita Drive on our way north before a flat section back to start. There are three significant climbs - Hollywood Hill, Rose Hill, and Juanita Drive. We'll climb them at our own pace and regroup at the top.
Starting time and location: Ride starts at 10:00 am at the Woodinville Sports Fields parking lot. There are sanicans there, and real restrooms & water across the street at Wilmot Gateway Park.
Navigation: The planned route/cue sheet is at the link below. The goal is to stay together via regrouping as necessary, but we won’t be able to wait long for anyone substantially off the pace. Please, bring navigation aids in case you need to finish on your own, as the ride becomes self-led for those ahead of or behind the group.
Restrooms: There will be restroom stops at Grass Lawn Park (mile 16, optional, quick), at the food/coffee stop (mile 22.5), and Blyth Park (mile 33.8, optional, quick).
Food: The coffee/food stop is at the Carillon Point Starbucks in south Kirkland. Bring snacks and water for nourishment and hydration along the way.
Cancellation: Forecast for rain or unsafe riding conditions will be cause for cancellation, in which case the cancellation will be posted in the Comments section below, at least 2 hours before the start and the ride leader will not be at the start.
Fenders: Please be considerate of other riders' comfort and safety by using full fenders with long mud flaps if rain is expected or the roads are wet. You may ride with us without them, but if you are spraying other riders you will need to drop to the back of the group. (A fender+mud flap that is 2 inches off the floor is ideal; 4 inches pretty good, higher than 4 you could maybe try harder next time.)
Repairs: Be prepared with the equipment and know-how to take care of your own flats and mechanicals, and a plan for getting back to the start if your bike won't take you there (ORCA card or someone to call). If you have a problem, the group may stop briefly to make sure you will be OK on your own, but we will not wait for repairs to be completed.
Safety talk and on time-departure: Please be at the start and ready to ride at least 15 minutes prior to ride start time, to participate in the pre-ride briefing and safety talk. The ride rolls out at 10 a.m.
Pre-registration: Please register at least two hours in advance by clicking the red "Register Now" button at the top of this page, to save time at the start (and enable the leader to email you in case of changes/cancellation). Note you will need to be signed into your account to do that.
We hope you can join us!

RIDE CANCELED
As of 25 March, Cascade Bicycle Club and the Rides Committee have decided to suspend Free Group Rides until further notice. This decision has been made with the safety and health of our riders in mind.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate these difficult times. We look forward to riding as a group again soon. Stay safe and healthy.
