Looking to start the spring riding season strong? Join us for eight weekly rides to start your year right. This will be a moderate-paced social ride that will stay in the mid-range (+/- 15 mph) on the flats. We will climb at our own pace and regroup at the tops of hills. Please review the route ahead of time and print your own cue-sheet as the ride leader will not have copies at the start.
This week’s adventure begins at Sixty Acres Park - the far east parking lot on the south side of 116th. There are portapotties at the start. This week we go to Mill Creek, riding through Woodinville and Bothell before heading north. MP 16.7 is our mid ride stop at the Spotted Cow Coffee shop. We'll climb Hollywood Hill for a grand finale before returning to Sixty Acres. Bring money if you'd like to enjoy a hot beverage and pastry.
Regardless of the weather predictions, come prepared with the appropriate rain gear and equip your bike with fenders with buddy flaps, both for your comfort and the safety of the rider behind you; if you do not have an adequate fender, you'll be asked to ride at the back of the pack. We will ride in light rain, but steady rain cancels, as does ice/snow/strong winds or other unsafe conditions. Ride cancellation will be announced in the comments sections of this post two hours ahead of the ride start. If the ride is canceled, the ride leader will not be at the ride start.
Please register for the ride by clicking on the “Register Now” button. Note that you will need to be signed in to your account prior to that. Registration is not mandatory, but it allows us to print the rider list beforehand and helps us save time at the ride start. There is no need to "unregister" if you cannot make the ride.
Riders should be able to sustain the advertised pace, carry nutrition/water, and have the know-how and equipment to fix a flat tire. The group will generally not stop for repairs. We strongly suggest you carry a charged cell phone to call for assistance if needed.
Arrive at least 20 minutes early so that you can get yourself ready, sign the waiver, and listen to the S.M.A.R.T. briefing. This allows us to have an on-time departure.
