It's that time of year and the Cherry Blossoms at the University of Washington Quad are popping!  We will stop to admire the Rites of Spring as we ride through the Arboretum on our way to the UW to check out the beautiful cherry blossoms.

We'll ride clockwise towards Renton, over to Seward Park, and on to Leschi where we'll stop at the Starbucks for refreshments.  We'll then ride towards the U-District through the Washington Arboretum and onto the new 520 Bridge Trail to Bellevue for our return.

Please RSVP by clicking on the red Register Now button at the top of this page.  Then put a checkmark in the waiver release box, complete the Emergency Contact Number, and click on Save.  By doing this you will save time at the ride start.  Note that this RSVP requires a Cascade Bicycle Club account.  If you don't have one and/or don't want one, come to the ride anyway and just sign the waiver/attendee sheet.  All are welcome.

If weather conditions meet the Showers Cancel criteria on the morning of the ride, I will post a ride-canceled notice in Comments, below, two hours prior.  Ice or snow also cancel.  Please check here before leaving for the ride.  The ride leader will not be at the start should the ride be cancelled.

Please arrive 20 minutes prior to the ride start to ready your bike and hear the safety briefing.  If wet weather, please be courteous to other riders by having fenders on your bike.

The club has issued new guidelines related to COVID-19 at the link above. Please do not plan to ride if you have a fever, cough, difficulty breathing or other cold or flu-like symptoms, or have other risk factors.

Also there is no water at the start and limited opportunities for hand washing on the route. I would highly recommend all riders carry hand sanitizer or wipes at all times and use as appropriate.  Thanks for your cooperation.

Comments

As of 16 March, Cascade Bicycle Club and the Rides Committee have decided to suspend Free Group Rides through the end of March and reevaluate the situation surrounding the coronavirus at that time.

Bicycling is still a great way to exercise and boost your immune system during this time of public health advisory. We encourage you to find a way to continue to ride your bike in a responsible and safe way during the upcoming weeks.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate these difficult times. We look forward to riding as a group again soon. Stay safe and healthy.
