Seattle historian Michael Herschensohn will provide some facts and history on a short ride to include some Wallingford, Ravenna and UW landmarks including Wallingford Greenway, the first Seattle Greeenway, the Home of the Good Shepard, Ravenna Bridge, the University of Washington, the Urban Horticultural Center and Yesler Swamp, and Talaris. Here are a few facts from him for advance study on these and other land Seattle landmarks. https://qahistory.org/squibs-from-district-4/. Returning to Gasworks riders will have the option of looping Lake Union including the detour on Eastlake and through Fred Hutchinson for about 21 miles or continuing to Gasworks for 15 miles. Bring snacks for the history stops. There are some inclines particularly at the start to the Wallingford Greenway. New riders, young and old, are welcome. Leader pedals at a low leisurely pace and slower up hill.
