Do you think of Lynnwood as merely one giant shopping center and street after street filled with big box stores? You'll know better after taking this tour that goes past several historic buildings and includes a stop to see the last remaining car of the Seattle-Everett Interurban Railway. You'll learn about the Little Landers, the Alderwood Manor chicken ranchettes, and more. We'll stop for lunch at Whole Foods before tackling the big hill back to our starting point. The route is mostly on the Interurban Trail, which spurred the development of the area, with time also spent poking around central Lynnwood in the Scriber Lake area.
Bring money for lunch; water and snacks, and a spare tube and tools for flat fixing. Come early for the safety briefing -- we'll try to leave promptly at 10am.
It's that wet time of the year, so be sure your bike is equipped with fenders.
This ride is a mentoring opportunity. Please contact the ride leader at least three days in advance so that you have time to familiarize yourself with the route. Ideally,we will pre-ride the route together.
If it's raining or extremely windy that day, I'll post a cancellation notice here by 8:00 am. If it looks like intermittent rain showers, I'll be at the ride start and will consult the Dark Sky app to make my decision about riding or not. Feel free to call me at 425-238-4045 for updates that morning.
Pre-registering online: You are encouraged to pre-register for this ride online by clicking on the Register Now button at the top of this page and entering your information. Weather forecast has improved
The weather forecast looked pretty dismal yesterday, but has improved as of this morning. Ride leader will be at the start and we will hope for the best. Be prepared for some sprinkles, though.
