Ride Description:

Join us for a ride from Mukilteo on a 122 mile route at high brisk/low vigorous pace, 17-19mph!

This ride is both scenic and challenging. Starting in Mukilteo, it winds it's way north through Everett, Tulalip, Stanwood, La Conner, and Deception Pass. The return runs the entire length of Whidbey Island, completing the loop with a ferry ride and a short climb back to the start. This is a challenging ride. Participants should have recently and successfully completed a hilly century (100 mile) ride, to attempt this. There are several points along the route for food and bathrooms. There will be longer, planned stops at Stanwood and Oak Harbor for rest and re-fueling, and shorter stops as needed. Be prepared with at least two water bottles, adequate nutrition, and a back-up plan in the event you cannot complete the ride. This will be an all-day event.

Let's meet at the Trails and Tails Dog Park, Mukilteo (AKA Japanese Gultch),  at 7:45 am for our pre-ride safety briefing, with a departure at 8:00 am.

We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup frequently.

There is a porta-potty, but no water available at the start. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water at miles 35, 53, 79, and 111, with additional options available, if needed.

You are encouraged to pre-register by clicking the red "Register Now" button above. There is no need to un-register if you decide not to ride.

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.

We hope you can join us!

Is anyone driving to this from queen anne or Redmondish area? I would love to join but dont have a car - happy to bike to or from an easy meet up point and give money for gas if someone can give me and bike a ride!

Looks like a big group, awesome! Just a note, the dog park lot is relatively small, but there should be ample parking street side. It may be a good idea to use it, and leave some parking for the dog lovers.

I'm probably going to meet you all at the Clinton side since I live on Whidbey. I assume that you plan to get on the 0830 ferry, correct?

Please read the ride description and see the RWGPS route. We are riding from Mukilteo, in a counterclockwise direction.

Sorry, I spoke to someone last week that told me about the ride and they said you were riding from Mukilteo to Whidbey, so I just made an assumption that meant directly to Whidbey. Thanks for clarifying.

I am also unavailable on Sundays but am willing to lead a version of this on Monday 7/8 if anyone wishes to join.  Sometimes I do the whole loop or just Clinton to Deception Pass and back which is more climbing and about 110 miles. A bit slower paced also :)
