Let's Bike the Link Light Rail!
If you are new, please read our newcomer information.
Ever wanted to ride to every light rail station in the Seattle area? We’re going to do it! We will meet at the plaza next to Angle Lake Station (19955 28th Ave S, SeaTac, WA 98188). Parking can be found in the adjacent parking garage. The best way to get there is to take the Link light rail to Angle Lake. The RapidRide A bus line runs near the start.
Please note: This is a ONE WAY route that starts at Angle Lake Station and ends at University of Washington Station. You will need to find your own way back to the start.
We will visit each and every one of the light rail stations, stopping at each to take a quick gander and/or picture. This route incorporates a lot of bike trails, bike lanes, greenways, and routes to get from each station to the next. For the busier roads including highways, we will mostly take the sidewalk.
During the ride, we will take 2 restroom/water breaks, the first at Tukwila Community Center (mile 6.8), and the second at Jefferson Park (mile 16.9).
Please arrive 30 minutes prior to ride start (i.e. arrive at 9:30). Please sign the electronic waiver by creating a free account on the Cascade website. Please bring basic tools (extra tubes, patch kit, etc.) as well as water and snacks, as it may be warm that day. Have a back-up plan in case you are unable to finish (friend/family who can pick you up, ORCA card to use public transit).
Cancellations: In the event of a weather cancellation, a notice will be posted in the comments on this page at least two hours before the ride and the ride leader will not be at the ride start location. Cue sheets will not be provided, please print one if desired. Restrooms: there are restrooms near the start in nearby gas stations, Tukwila Community Center (mile 6.8), and Jefferson Park (mile 16.9).
E-bikes: This is an e-bike-friendly ride for those with Class 1 or Class 2 e-bikes (Class 3 e-bikes are not allowed because we will be riding on some trails). See the Cascade Ebike FAQ’s link for more information. Be sure to have your battery/power pack fully charged before you arrive for the ride.
