This route is intended to provide some added mileage for riders who plan to do the Kitsap Color Classic. The return trip from Edmonds to Lynnwood will not be led, but a link to a Ride With GPS route has been included below. (It is 10.3 miles and 900 feet of elevation gain.)
THE START: Ash Way Park & Ride has neither bathrooms nor water available. Please, come prepared. Please, arrive at the start no later than 7:15 a.m. so that we can leave at 7:30 a.m. in plenty of time to let riders register/pick up packets and make the 8:50 a.m. ferry.
KITSAP COLOR CLASSIC REGISTRATION: If you are planning day-of-ride registration or packet pickup, we should be in Edmonds in time for you to do either at the parking lot of the Bank of America branch at the southeast corner of Third and Main. It is an easy three-block roll down Main Street to the ferry.
MECHANICAL ISSUES: Make sure you have the tools, a spare tube or patch kit -- and the knowledge -- to fix a flat. The recent rain has washed a lot of junk that can puncture tires onto the shoulders, so be prepared. Also, you should have a phone to call for a rescue ride if your bike suffers a major mechanical problem.
STAYING DRY: The drizzly season is starting, so if there is a chance of showers or the roads are wet, it is advisable to have fenders on your bike. Fenders are not required to ride but if you don't have them and it gets wet, you will be asked to ride at the back of the group.
REGISTRATION: Please use the club's electronic system by clicking on the red Register Now button.
CANCELLATION: In case of steady rain, a notice of cancellation will be posted two hours before the ride. If the weather is questionable, please check here before leaving home.
