Winter Weekdays Get Rolling Rides-Redmond-English Hill
If you are new, please read our newcomer information.
Are you a newer or timid cyclist? Or are you getting back on the bike after not riding for awhile? This weekday winter series will offer rides that give you the chance to venture off the trail and learn group riding skills. The routes are planned with less experienced riders in mind. The pace will be low steady on the flats (12-14mph) There will be some hills but we will wait at the top of them to regroup. The mileage and distance will increase with each ride. The rides will include a coffee or food stop. This ride will start in Redmond near Marymoor Park and follow the Sammamish river trail before venturing off the trail for some gentle hills and quiet roads on English Hill.
You should bring snacks and a filled water bottle to the ride. A properly fitting bike helmet is required. A rear safety flasher is highly recommended. Although showers will cancel, you should always have a rain jacket with you for winter rides. These rides are intended for adults and not appropriate for children.
Be certain your bike is in good working order and carry appropriate sized spare tubes, tire levers and a pump in case of a flat. If you are not a tire changing expert I will help you. Have a number of a person you can call in case of problems on the ride.
Plan to arrive and be ready to ride by 10:45 so we can have a safety briefing before departing. The start location is a parking lot along the East Lake Sammamish trail, just west of the Whole Foods shopping complex in Redmond. Address provided is a business just across the street from the parking lot entrance. There is a sanican at the start but no water. Please print a cue sheet from the link provided .
In the event of showers or worse I will post a cancellation notice in the comments section at the bottom of this posting by 9am and will not be at the start. Please always check the ride comments before driving to a ride start.
If you have a Cascade account you may preregister by selecting the register button at the top of this posting up until 8am on ride day. After that you may sign in at the start. If your plans change you do not need to unregister.
