BMC Sponsors Cascade Bicycle Club’s 2026 Tours Season

Premium Swiss bicycle brand BMC is partnering with Cascade Bicycle Club, the largest statewide bike nonprofit in the United States, to sponsor Cascade’s 2026 “Season of Tours” and offer the opportunity to ride with BMC Ambassador and former pro racer Brent Bookwalter.

“Cascade Bicycle Club is an organization I’ve long admired due to its huge scope of work getting more people of all ages and abilities onto bikes," says Joan Hanscom, North American marketing manager for BMC. "I believe the bike industry needs to work more closely with organizations like Cascade to grow cycling participation.” 

BMC is the Presenting Sponsor for Cascade’s five 2026 multi-day Tours, which explore Washington state’s most beautiful and bikeable destinations–from Walla Walla to the San Juan Islands.

BMC representatives will participate in multiple Tours and showcase their Swiss-engineered road and gravel bikes at select events throughout Cascade’s 2026 Season of Tours. 

The partnership kicks off with a social event at Seattle’s Métier Cycling on the evening of Friday, March 27, when attendees will have the opportunity to meet and mingle with Bookwalter, who competed on the 2011 Tour de France team led by yellow jersey winner Cadel Evans. The following day, Bookwalter will join Métier's usual Saturday shop ride, which is open to Cascade members.   

“The sponsorship is a fantastic opportunity for Cascade Bicycle Club members to experience select BMC bikes curated for our road and gravel Tours,” says Brittany Merritt, Cascade’s corporate partnerships officer. "In addition to enhancing our Tours, BMC's sponsorship helps Cascade expand our Mission of bringing people together to experience the joy of bicycling through transportation, recreation, and friendship."

Public registration opens next Tuesday, March 10, for three of Cascade’s five 2026 Tours: Walla Walla, Winthrop Gravel and Lake Chelan. Cascade Tours are limited to 200 riders and sell out quickly due to their small size, social opportunities, and affordability. All are three days aside from Iron Horse Gravel which is two.

Métier Cycling Event and Bookwalter Ride, March 27-28

Tour de France fans and BMC enthusiasts can mingle with and meet Bookwalter on March 27 from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Métier Cycling studio and event space in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. Cascade members are invited to ride with Bookwalter during Metier's fast-paced Saturday shop ride on March 28.

Bookwalter competed on the 2011 Tour de France team led by yellow jersey winner Cadel Evans and he now serves as a cycling commentator for the Peacock network and represents BMC as a brand ambassador.

“We will have bikes on display, food, drinks and an opportunity to register for the events on our Season of Tours,” says Hanscom, who is excited to ride the Walla Walla Tour that explores the rolling hills and wine country of southeastern Washington.
