Did you resolve to bike more in 2026? Come to the Seattle Bike Swap and E-Bike Demo at the Seattle Center on Feb. 7 to test ride an electric bike, browse for bargains—or even learn how to get a tax break when buying a bicycle for health reasons.
With more than 40 vendors selling everything from cycling apparel to parts, frames, and vintage bikes–plus a large selection of consignment bicycles–Bike Swap is a bargain hunter’s paradise.
Entry is $10 at the door, $8 if you register online by Feb. 5. Below are some highlights:
E-Bikes to Demo
Seattle Electric Bike will offer demo rides on multiple electric bikes from Marin, Tern, and Transition—all with Bosch motors—including the:
- Sausalito E1, Lombard E1, and Larkspur E
- Quick Haul P9 and Quick Haul Long
- and the Regulator SX e-MTB
Seattle’s Mello Fellos bike shop plans to bring multiple Trek e-bikes including the FX+ 7, FX+ 2, Fetch+ 2 and Fetch+ 4.
Owner Jesse Angelo says they will also sell some Surly Preamble and Straggler gravel and bikepacking rigs. “We will have all our bikes ready to demo.”
Derailleurs, Rims, Wheels
Ride Bicycles in Issaquah will bring a large amount of inventory from the Seattle shop it closed last year. “We will offer a large selection of new seven-, eight-, nine- and 10-speed derailleurs for street and road bikes, as well as a variety of new rims and wheels,” says owner Christiaan Bourdrez.
Bourdrez also plans to offer several new and lightly used gravel and road bikes. “Most items will be priced at 50 percent off the retail value.”
Consign or Buy a Used Bike
Got an old bike that needs a new home? Consign it to make some cash while supporting our Major Taylor Project.
Bring your bike to Seattle Center from 8-9 a.m. on Feb. 7 and our staff and volunteers will help price and sell it. A $15 consignment fee includes your $10 entry, and you keep 90% of the sale price.
Visit the Bike Swap event page for more information on consignment.
Wombi Electric Cargo Bike Subscriptions
E-bike subscription service Wombi will offer test rides on three varieties of Tern electric cargo bikes: the GSD Gen 2 S10, Quick Haul P9, and HSD P5i.
Starting at $135 monthly, Wombi subscriptions include rider rescues in the case of mechanical breakdown, insurance, maintenance, delivery, and home service appointments within the Seattle region. New subscribers will be eligible for 50 percent off their first month, says Wombi’s Nia Ransom.
Bicycling as Medicine
Some Bike Swap booths are devoted to informing the community about their work to promote cycling.
The Cycling Over Sixty booth, for instance, will share information about how to use Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Savings Account (FSA) funds to buy bikes and indoor training equipment.
Cycling Over Sixty founder Tom Butler, a Cascade member and STP rider, supports the “exercise is medicine” movement. He took up cycling to help manage his diabetes and wants to inspire other older folks to bike for health.
“The philosophy is simple: if exercise is medicine, then the bicycle is a medical device—and safe bike infrastructure is vital,” says Butler.
