Work is scheduled to begin today to construct a new crosswalk, curb ramps and a pedestrian island on Seaview Avenue N between the Burke-Gilman Trail and the south entrance to Shilshole Bay Marina, according to a press release from Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT).
Construction is expected to last up to two weeks.
Construction will include a temporary detour on the Burke-Gilman Trail at the intersection to repair the trail asphalt and provide a smooth connection to the new curb ramp. SDOT says they will set up a detour for trail users for the duration of construction.
SDOT says this project is part of a citywide effort to upgrade over 160 curb ramps at 29 locations to meet federal Americans with Disabilities Act standards.
