Construction of
Ballard’s first neighborhood greenway is almost complete, and neighbors are getting ready to celebrate its grand opening on Saturday, Sept. 7.
Just over 2.1 miles in length, the new greenway starts at the Burke-Gilman Trail at Seaview Avenue NW and follows NW 58th Street for the majority of the route, improving access to parks, schools, shops, restaurants and services. (

This greenway is one of several that were proposed by the Seattle Neighborhood Greenways organization as a key corridor for improving pedestrian and bicycle access in the heart of Ballard.
The Ballard Neighborhood Greenways group is hosting a grand opening party on Saturday, Sept. 7 , from 2 until 5 p.m. Come see and learn about the changes, and join
Kidical Mass or
Spokespeople for a bike ride.
Activities will include a ribbon cutting ceremony, a bike rodeo for kids, booths, walking tours, and more.
Festivities will take place along NW 58
th St between 20
th and 22
nd Avenue NW.
