Free entry for club members at the 2013 Marymoor Grand Prix

Mark your calendars, plan a picnic dinner and bring your friends and family to Marymoor Park for the summer’s most exciting nights of racing during the 2013 Marymoor Grand Prix Track Cycling Championships. Taking place July 19 and 20 at the Velodrome in Marymoor Park, the Grand Prix promises some of the fastest, most exciting and spectator-friendly bicycle racing in North America this year.  Think about it – one gear, no brakes, riding inches apart on a banked oval at speeds up to 40 miles per hour! As a special treat, both Friday and Saturday nights are Cascade Bicycle Club Night at the races, meaning that all Cascade Bicycle Club members will receive free entry by flashing your club card at the entrance. Competition this year will be hot with some of the top men and women track racers in the US, Canada and Australia competing for a prize purse totaling $12,500.00. Each night will showcase up to 15 different races as well as a Kiddie Kilo race. The Kiddie Kilo is for children ages 2 through 12 on all types of bikes.  While officially a fun-lap, many kids go for the win as they circle the Velodrome in age/size graded groupings.  Entry is free – but a parent is needed to sign a waiver.  Bring whatever bike you have, your helmet and get ready to ride.  Participatory prizes for all! Spectators are welcome to bring a picnic and spread out on the grass surrounding the velodrome, or join the cheering section in the beer garden from 6:30 to 11 p.m. both nights. See you there!   Details: Friday and Saturday, July 19-20 7 p.m. Marymoor Park, 6046 West Lake Sammamish Pkwy NE Entry is free for Cascade Bicycle Club members and kids. $5 for non-members.
