The Seattle Public Library is teaming up with The Bikery – an all-volunteer run, non-profit, community bike that provides people with the tools and resources to learn how to fix bicycles – to bring free bike maintenance classes to a library near you.
Taking place at various branches during the month of October, the classes will provide an introduction into basic bicycle parts and bicycle maintenance.
This class will start you on your journey toward understanding your bicycle.
This program is part of the 2012 Urban Self-Reliance Series which offers a range of free classes from Backyard Composting to costume repair throughout the month of October.
The bike maintenance classes will kick of this Saturday, Oct. 6, from noon until 2 p.m. at the Ballard Branch, 5614 22nd Ave. N.W.
Two more bike maintenance classes will take place the following week:
- Saturday, Oct. 13. Noon to 2 p.m. at the Rainier Beach Branch, 9125 Rainier Ave. S
- Sunday, Oct. 14. 1 to 3 p.m. at the Douglass-Truth Branch, 2300 E. Yesler Way
Can’t make it to these classes?
