Park it and speak up

Seattle Parks and Recreation is in the midst of a fact finding process to develop a strategic direction for the future. The “Parks Legacy Plan” will provide levels of service analysis, participation and use numbers, costs and revenue projections to answer the following questions:

• Are Parks resources deployed in the most effective manner?

• Which facilities and parks get the most use?

• What are the core services Parks provides?

To help them answer those questions, Parks has posted a new online survey to determine what people's favorite recreation activities and locations are, and where they would like the Parks capital and maintenance and programming money to go in the future. There are several open ended questions which provide opportunities to call on Parks to expend some future money to connect our parks via safe pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure.  Here’s our chance, as bicycle riders, to weigh in about better bikeways for all ages and abilities, like trails, protected cycletracks and greenways.
