Need to learn how to ride a bike?

No problem! Take a one-on-one, 1-hour class with one of our instructors where we'll focus on balance and rolling on two wheels. As you progress at your own pace, we'll tackle pedaling, braking and shifting gears. All Learn to Ride classes take place at our office in Magnuson Park. Registration is covered by the GBike program and bikes/helmets can be provided for you during your lesson.

To sign up for a Learn to Ride class, take a look at our schedule and email adultclasses@cascade.org with the session that you'd like to sign up for!

Learn to Ride Schedule

Don't let the learning stop here!

Interested in taking another class outside of this schedule? We offer a suite of ongoing courses for adult learners throughout the year! From learning to ride a bike for the first time, adjusting your brakes and shifting, to riding amongst traffic - we have courses for all levels of cycling ability.

Take a look at these online resources!

Cascade's Essential Biking Knowledge course is offered online and taught by experienced cyclists; it covers cycling infrastructure and sharing the road with vehicles, and is a terrific forum for asking questions. We also provide a recording of the class free!

The League of American Cyclists is a nationwide nonprofit dedicated to cycling advocacy; and to promoting cycling safety through their Smart Cycling program. The League's educational materials are excellent! These are some useful videos that they have made available on YouTube:
