Please join the Connect Ballard Team at the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) Neighborhood Greenway Open House on Monday, May 2. You’ll have the chance weigh-in on proposals to improve bridge safety for people biking and walking.
Caring neighbors — including business owner and Cascade Board Member Haley Keller — have been calling for improvements to the Ballard Bridge for a long time. Take a look at the video Haley made last year:
Now is the time to fix this gap and ensure it is safe for all ages and abilities.

Join us in asking for short-term improvements to the Ballard Bridge, such as:
- Safe connections on and off of the bridge for people walking and biking
- Wide, ADA accessible sidewalks
- Taller railings to keep people from falling into the street
- 25 MPH speed limit
- Protected Bike Lanes at south end
At this open house, you’ll also have an opportunity to weigh in on efforts to connect historic Ballard to the Burke-Gilman Trail and RapidRide improvements.
