Join us for a history ride from Seacrest Park on a 14 mile route around parts of West Seattle at a Leisurely (10-12 mph average on flat ground) pace!
We will meet at the pier near the West Seattle Water Taxi in Seacrest Park (1660 Harbor Ave SW, Seattle, WA 98126). Bicycle access is off the Alki Trail. Parking can be found in the adjacent parking lot or along Harbor Ave SW. Transit access includes West Seattle Water Taxi and King County Metro Bus routes 773 and 775.
Please be ready to ride at 10:00 AM. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that’s done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
There are a total of 10 short stops on this ride during which the ride leader will tell a story about the history/geography/etc. for a couple of minutes. We will take a restroom & water break at Lincoln Park (mile 7.5). There are restrooms near the start in Marination Ma Kai or Don Armeni Boat Ramp.
The route is mostly on paved roads and trails with a short segment on packed gravel.
Please note: due to all of the starts/stops, this ride is expected to last around 4 hours (estimated finish around 2:00 pm).
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
