Let's meet at the Auburn Fred Meyer. Be there, ready to go at the time listed above. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
HOOA! Wapiti Do Dah, Wapiti A, My oh my what a wonderful day to ride. Now that there's a song playing in your head, we will be riding from Auburn through Enumclaw, up Hwy 410 to Wapiti Outdoors for ice-cream and coffee. I usually put the shot of coffee on my moose-tracks ice-cream, Yum! Wapiti is a also an outdoorsy souvenir store heavily influenced by Mt Rainier and its most famous resident, Big Foot. Then we will make the descent down 410 back to Enumclaw for Lunch. Finally, make our way to Green Valley for a meandering stretch through farmlands next to the river.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace and regroup. Otherwise we will stay together. There is almost 3000 ft of elevation to Wapiti Outdoors, but most of it is pretty gradual. Restrooms are available at the start. We will stop at the Enumclaw Safeway on the way up, mile 17 for a quick bathroom break. We'll hang out at Wapiti Outdoors, mile 37 until we are ready to head back, and have our lunch when we return to the Enumclaw Safeway/ Mc Donalds/ Taco Time/ Subway... All at mile 55.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We hope you can join us!
