**CANCELLED** Journey over Hill and Trail (Juanita, Cross Kirkland, Sammamish River Trail) (Leisurely)
Event has been cancelled.
... of 15 spots remaining
Join us for a fun ride (Cascade "Leisurely" pace; 10mph-12mph on flats). We’ll roll through Juanita, Kirkland & the Sammamish Valley! Let's meet at 9:00 AM in the parking lot of the 192 Brewing Company Lake Trail Taproom at 7324 NE 175th Street Kenmore, WA 98028. (Please don't park in 192's lot; there's plenty of parking available on the street.)
Please be ready to ride at 9:00 AM. Please arrive early so you can get you and your bike ready to go. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
We’ll climb Finn and Market hills at our own pace and regroup at the top of each (possibly twice on Finn Hill). The Cross Kirkland Corridor (CKC) trail is compact gravel; 28mm tires will be sufficient (you don’t need wide mountain bike type tires). Then we’ll head north along the Sammamish River Trail (SRT) back to the 192. Both the CKC & SRT trails are pretty flat.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace regrouping at tops & bottoms of bigger hills. Otherwise, we will stay together. We'll also limit our speed on multi-use paths to the legal maximum. Restrooms and water are available near the start at TL' aw-ah-dees Park, 500 feet to the east. We will also stop along the way for restrooms/water at mile 14.6 (Feriton Spur Park). After the ride we will (optionally) regroup at 192 Brewing (next to parking lot & on the BGT) to visit and for something to drink/eat (we will each pay for our own food/drink).
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride. Smoke! I'll check https://www.airnow.gov several hours prior to the ride. If air quality is a problem, I'll cancel the ride.
We hope you can join us!
