Free Group Ride
**CANCELLED** TREATS: Machias Lake Roesiger Loop (Steady)
Event has been cancelled.
Full
... of 20 spots remaining
This is a steady paced ride (12 – 14 mph) starting at Machias Station in Snohomish. The ride is mostly on rural roads although we will ride for several miles on the shoulder of State Route 92. We will be climbing for most of the first 20 miles; mostly the grade will be low rolling hills, however, there are a few climbs that are challenging. Most of the last 10 miles will be downhill. We will climb and descend at our own pace and regroup as necessary. Even though we will be meeting at a Centennial Trail trailhead, we will not be riding on the trail.
Restrooms and water are available at the start and at mile 10 when we stop at the Granite Falls City Hall. They are also available at the Lake Roesiger Store (mile 18.2) where there is an optional stop; the store does, however, expect you to purchase something if you want to use the restroom. We will be stopping for a picnic lunch at Lake Roesiger Park (mile 19.4) where there is a Honey Bucket.
We will meet at the gravel parking lot beside Machias Station. Please be ready to ride at 10:00. We will start with a required safety briefing and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate. Be sure to bring a spare tube as well as the tools and knowledge to fix a flat - we will stay with you while you fix a flat. If the roads are wet, please have fenders or plan on riding at the end of the line.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancelation criterion listed above (including rain, freezing weather, ice or snow, or high winds) or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is canceled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We hope you can join us!
