FRIDAY RIDERS - North Lake Washington Loop

Unlike the picture above, you will not see cattle or a cattle drive on this bike ride, or gravel, or blue skies, or shorts weather, but at least the picture is one I took myself; I own the copyright.  We ride in the winter so we are in shape to do rides like the one in this picture. 

Join us for a ride from Juanita Beach Park, Kirkland on a 28-mile route at a leisurely pace, 10 - 12 mph! We will do a counterclockwise trip around the north end of Lake Washington.

Let's meet at the Juanita Beach Park and please be ready to ride at 11:00am. We will start with a required safety briefing and roll out when that's done.  If you miss the briefing, you will not be able to ride with the group. We will not cancel if there are cattle or a cattle drive on the trail, or if there are blue skies, or shorts weather. However if the trail is closed due to a landslide we will cancel. If it is icy or raining, we will cancel.

We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and we will REGROUP FREQUENTLY. This is a leisurely paced ride so we will keep our speed on any multi-use paths below the legal maximum 15 MPH.

Restrooms ARE available at the start. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water at miles 7.  We’ll stop for coffee/snacks at Metropolitan Market at mile 15.

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
