CTS Red #4: South Lake Loop w/Mercer Island

NOTE: we expect the bathrooms at Renton Community Center to be busy since yellow riders will also be using them. Please be prepared and allow extra time!

This week's ride departs from the Renton Community Center, goes north past the Seahawks Headquarters, and follows the Eastrail to the I-90 trail.  We will ride the I-90 trail west bound to Mercer Island then turn south on E Mercer Way and ride clockwise around the south end of Mercer Island before rejoining the I-90 trail and crossing Lake Washington on the Homer M Hadley Memorial Bridge.  We will have a brief celebratory stop at the East Portal Viewpoint Park for a group photo and then we ride Lk Washington Blvd S  back towards our start in Renton.  

Rest stops:

1. Mile 7 (Newcastle Beach Park)
2. Mile 24 (Mount Baker Beach)

Meet at the Renton Community Center and be ready to ride at 9:00 AM.  Please arrive at least 20 minutes early so that you can get yourself and bicycle prepared for the ride.  We will start with the required safety briefing and ride announcements, and roll out when that's done.  If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancelation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Director will cancel the ride least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Be sure to check this posting and your email inbox the morning of the ride for any final updates.
