Event has already happened.

The Burke Museum, located on the University of Washington Campus, is the State of Washington’s museum of anthropology and natural history. Exhibits include Northwest Native Americans, paleontology (including dinosaurs), biology, evolution and windows into working laboratories and sample preparation. On the first Thursday of the month admission is free, but tickets are required. I have obtained tickets for people who sign up for this ride.
This is a steady paced ride (12 – 14 mph) starting at Wilmot Gateway Park in Woodinville. We will travel along the Sammamish River Trail to the Burke Gillman Trail and then onto the University of Washington and the Burke Museum. In addition to the exhibits, there is a small restaurant as well as tables for those who choose to bring their own lunch. We will spend at least an hour and a half at the museum and may stay longer if that is the group consensus.
There are bicycle racks, and it is recommended that you bring a strong lock. Except for the route off the campus, we will return to Woodinville the way we came. Water and restrooms are available at the start, Log Boom Park (Mile 6.1), Matthew’s Beach (Mile 11.2), and at the Burke Museum.
We will meet under the Pergola across the street from the play fields parking lot. Please be ready to ride at 10:00. We will start with a required safety briefing and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
Be sure to bring a spare tube as well as the tools and knowledge to fix a flat - we will stay with you while you fix a flat. Other things to bring: Phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. If the roads are wet, please have fenders or plan on riding at the end of the line.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancelation criterion listed above (including rain, freezing weather, ice or snow, or high winds) or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is canceled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We hope you can join us!
