Eastside Climbing # 4 - Lake Sammamish Loop with Climbs! (Moderate)
Event has already happened.

... of 15 spots remaining
Let's meet at Gerks Ski and Cycle in Issaquah. Be there, ready to go at the time listed above. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
This is the 4th and Final of the Eastside Climbing Rides that I have been working on! 38 miles, and nearly 2750 feet of climbing. If you are planning to participate in the upcoming CHEW Rides, or want to keep your conditioning up for other Climbing Rides (Chilly Hilly in 2 months!), then this ride will help get you prepared for these. Although cyclists who are already good at climbing are welcome on this ride, you might have to be a bit patient for other cyclists who are working to improve on these kinds of climbing rides - such as myself. I have set the pace at Moderate, but that won’t reflect the overall speed of the ride, as there is more climbing and descending than flat and level portions on this route.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and we will regroup frequently. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH, occasionally 10 MPH).
Restrooms are available near the start. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water at Central Park in the Issaquah Highlands (mile 5) and at Lake Hills Park in Bellevue (mile 31.5). We’ll also stop for coffee and snacks at Peet’s Coffee in Redmond, near Marymoor Park (mile 24).
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group. Please wear weather appropriate attire (Winter), and make sure that your brakes are in good working order, and that your derailleur is working smoothly.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. Steady Rain and Heavy Showers will cancel, and if the conditions have been freezing overnight, or substantial frost still present in the morning, the ride will also be cancelled. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
Let’s hope for good weather and I hope that you can join us!
