Free Group Ride
Renton to Madison Park Coffee Ride
Event has already happened.
Come join us on a 33-mile ride from Old City Hall in downtown Renton to Madison Park's Starbucks for coffee. We’ll ride along Lake Washington Blvd N, across Mercer Island, crossing the I-90 bridge and onto Madison Park (mile 19). We’ll return along Lake Washington Blvd S to Seward Park and Rainier Ave S. We'll ride at about 12.5 to 13 mph on the flats when there is no wind. We will climb and descend hills at our own pace and regroup as needed. The ride will take about 3 hours including the 20-minute coffee break. A GPS route map and cue sheet are at the Link, below. Please be ready to ride at 9:30 AM when we will do the safety briefing and get on the road.
IMPORTANT TO NOTE: If you are not present and ready when we start the safety briefing, you will not be allowed to participate.
Water and restroom stop at Gene Coulon Park (mile 2.5).
Please bring: ID, tools and spare tube(s) to fix flats, and phone.
Weather - Showers or more severe weather will cancel the ride. Ride cancellation will be announced below and in the comments section of the Cascade calendar entry at least two hours before start time and the ride leaders will not be at the start. If you have questions, please contact the Ride Leader.
What to Know Before You Go
- Advance registration required. Cancel if unable to attend, to open space for others.
- Must be present at safety briefing to participate.
- Helmets required.
- Riders under 18 years old require parental consent & approval from the Ride Leader.
