Free Group Ride
Exploring Seattle: Interbay to SE
Event has already happened.
Join us for a ride from Fishermen's Terminal on a 43 mile route at Brisk (16-18mph on flat) pace!
This will be a scenic ride heading SE from Fisherman's Terminal over Queen Anne, and then along Capital and Beacon hills, and then back up along Lake Washington.
Let's meet on the sidewalk between Wild Salmon Seafood market and Fisherman's Green Market and Deli, and please be ready to ride at 10:00am. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.
While 2-hour parking is available at the Terminal, this will be insufficient for the length of this ride so I advise not parking there and using nearby street parking if you plan to drive to the start. Riding to the start is encouraged.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup occasionally (on the longer climbs). We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH, occasionally 10 MPH). Notably this includes a several mile stretch on the Chief Sealth trail and the segment around Seward park. We will also deviate from the RidewithGPS route and avoid the Arboretum trail and take Lake Washington Blvd.
Restrooms are available at the start. We’ll stop for coffee/snacks at Redwing Cafe at mile 23 - if the line isn't too long. An additional restroom stop will be made at Seward Park at mile 25.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
