Tacoma -Steilacoom Loop

Join us for a ride from Tacoma Central Co-op Market on a 31.6 mile route at moderate (14-16mph) pace!  We will ride from Tacoma to Steilacoom and loop back through Lakewood to Tacoma. This is a somewhat hilly ride with great downhill sections and gradual climbs. No problem! We will ride on city streets and also paved trails. We'll stop at House of DONUTS in Lakewood. I have my reservation for an apple fritter already posted!  Gute Reise!

Let's meet at the Tacoma Central Co-op parking lot and please be ready to ride at 0900. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done.  If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.

We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup frequently. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).

Restrooms are available at the start. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water at miles 18.3 and 21.6 (if open at South Park).  We’ll also stop for coffee/snacks at House of Donuts at mile 18.3.

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancelation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride. Canceled rides will be noted in the title of the post and registered riders will be sent an e-mail. If the ride is canceled at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
