Free Group Ride
West Seattle to Kent for Lunch
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Join us for a ride from Jack Block Park in West Seattle on a 40-mile route at a 12-14 mph pace. The route takes us along the serpentine banks of the Duwamish River to Fort Dent Park in Tukwila, where we transition to the straight-as-an-arrow bike path to Kent. The first part of the route is scenic and woodsy at times, and it's consistently flat. Much of the route is on bike paths, but there are stretches in the South Park area and in the City of Kent where we will be riding on streets.
Let's meet at Jack Block Park the and please be ready to ride at 9:45 a.m. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group. Our plan will be to regroup occasionally, as needed.
Restrooms and water are available at the start. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water at Fort Dent (a/k/a Starfire Sports) (mile 12). We'll plan on lunch at the Wild Wheat Bakery in Kent (mile 20).
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above, or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
