Tacoma - Dupont - Lakewood Loop

Starting near the Tacoma Narrows bridge, our loop will take us through scenic University Place, Steilacoom, Dupont, Lakewood, South, Downtown and North Tacoma. There will be water views, parks, lakes and hills!   

Ride leader will not be providing cue sheets, but you can print your own if you want one and also download the route from the link. 

Meet the group at the Narrows Park and Ride (6th avenue near Skyline/Oxford and Bridgeport).  We'll start at 9am with introductions and a safety briefing, and roll out when that's done.  If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.

Pace is "moderate"  - defined by the club as 14-16 miles per hour on flats without wind. Similar effort on hills, but we will be traveling faster or slower depending on the terrain and wind and will regroup after hills and before turns if we are spread out. 

There are no public washrooms at the start, although neighboring businesses might let you use theirs.  If needed, we can stop at the spray park at Titlow beach at mile 1 or at Chamber's Bay Golf Course public walkway at mile 5. Other washroom stops at the Dupont Starbucks (mile 17.5) Fort Steilacoom Dog Park (mile 25.5) Wendy's (mile 30) Lincoln District Starbucks (mile 44.5) and Metropolitan Market in Proctor (mile 49.5). Water bottles can also be refilled at most of these stops. 

Helmets required. Other items to bring: water, snacks, ID, charged cell phone, cash and credit card, ORCA card, supplies to fix a flat or other minor mechanical, fenders on your bike should the roads be wet. 

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancelation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the ride will be canceled. Canceled rides will be noted in the title of the ride post and registered riders will be sent a notification by email. If the ride is canceled more than two hours before the start time, the ride leader will not be at the start.
