Juanita Beach Lake Sammamish Loop

Please join us for a ride from Juanita Beach Park on a 48 mile route at a moderate pace, 14-16 mph on the flats!

Let's meet at the Juanita beach Park and please be ready to ride at 9:00AM. We will gather at the picnic shelter near the restrooms. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done.  If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group. There is parking in the park, and also on the nearby residential streets. If the weather stays hot, expect the park to be bustling with the beach crowd when we return. Jump into the lake after the ride to cool off!

We will ride south through Kirkland, over Rose Hill and then descend to Lake Sammamish. We will loop around the lake and stop at Issaquah Coffee for a break at mile 22. The route backs takes us on East Lake Sammamish Parkway to the Sammamish River Trail. We will then turn south past Wayne Golf Course and make our way way back to to Juanita Beach.

We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to stay together and regroup frequenctly.We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).

Restrooms are available at the start. There will be no other restroom or water break until the coffee stop. There will be an additional restroom break on the way back along the trail in Woodinville. The weather forecast looks warm, so bring plenty of water.

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancelation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
