**CANCELLED** Tacoma to Fox Island Pier

Join us for a ride from the Tacoma Narrows Park and Ride on a 33.5 mile route at moderate pace (14-16mph on flats) !

Ride across the scenic Tacoma Narrows Bridge and enjoy water views along Wollochet Bay and over the Fox Island Bridge. This is a short but hilly ride that will get your legs ready for a great season of cycling. The midpoint stop is at Fox Island Fishing Pier which offers great views of The Narrows and Tacoma's shoreline. There is no food for purchase at the Fishing Pier, but there are restrooms. There is food available at Fox Island Deli at mile 21.2.

Let's meet at the Tacoma Narrows Park and Ride and please be ready to ride at 0900. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done.  If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.

We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup frequently.  We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).

Restrooms are NOT available at the start. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water at miles 17.3 and 21.2.  Optional ride to Pao's Donuts which is 1 block from the Narrows Park and Ride when we finish the route. 

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
