FRIDAY RIDERS: Bike the 520 Bridge: Gas Works to Medina
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Join us for a 17-mile ride from Gas Works Park to Medina and back at leisurely pace (10 to12 miles per hour). The 520 Bridge Bikeway is wide, has pullouts and great views of Lake Washington. On the east side of the Lake we'll explore Medina on a short loop. Ride Leader rides at a slow leisurely pace, enjoys the scenery and rides slowly up hill. There is a substantial rise at the east end of the 520 Bridge.
Let's meet at Gas Works Park parking lot and please be ready to ride at 10:00 AM. We will start with a required safety briefing and roll out when that is done. If you miss the briefing you will not be allowed to ride with the group.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to stay together.
Restrooms are available at the start. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water at about 10 miles at the Medina police station. Bring water and snacks for rest stops. No formal lunch stop. Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancelation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
