Free Group Ride
CTS Red #6: Eastside Urban Loop
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
This CTS ride starts from the Bothell Park and Ride, where we will meet.
**NOTE** There are no restrooms or water at the start, please plan accordingly.
Please be ready to ride at 9:00AM, arriving at least 20 minutes early so that you can get yourself prepared. We will start with a required safety briefing and ride announcements, and roll out when that's done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.
IMPORTANT: Plan to bring 2 water bottles and adequate snacks. Hydration and nutrition become increasingly important as our rides get longer (and the weather gets warmer)!
The route starts with a flat ride through the winery area of Woodinville and along the Sammamish River trail. Our first official rest stop is at Marymoor Park (mile 11). We then ride along West Lake Sammamish and eventually make a right turn onto Newport Way to begin our first long climb of the day. We coast down into Factoria and through the slough, we'll stop at Enatai Beach Park (mile 26) then pedal along the quiet streets of the Beaux Arts district. Weaving our way through more urban Bellevue streets, we'll find our way to some streets we have seen before and make our way to the 520 bridge overlook for one of several photo opps! Then, it's back to the 520 trail down to Lake Washington Blvd and into downtown Kirkland. After a quick stop at Marina Park (mile 35), we'll climb Market Street hill and 100th Ave before a grand downhill on Waynita Way. At the old Wayne Golf Course be prepared to dismount and walk across the gravel parking lot. A short stretch along the Burke-Gilman Trail takes us to the last optional bathroom stop at Blyth Park, before our glorious return to our starting point at the Bothell Park and Ride.
Please review the Comments Section before the morning of the ride for any final updates. Route may be updated there as well as weather updates and cancelations.
See you there!
