CTS Pace Preview - Green
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
This ride, scheduled before the beginning of the CTS, will allow you to gauge whether you have signed up for the correct pace. If you have been a "regular rider" during the Winter, you likely have a good sense of your current abilities. However, this may not be the case with others who haven't been riding regularly, and you may benefit from a refresher before you get started with the CTS.
This loop will be a relatively easy and even scenic ride, with some rolling hills around Lake Sammamish. No major or really challenging Hill Climbs on this route - but don't worry - we will get to those on many of the CTS Rides. Consider joining us and meeting some of your fellow CTS Riders.
In addition to steady rain, there may be other hazardous conditions that may lead to cancelation. If a ride is canceled due to hazardous conditions, a notice will be posted here, in the comments section below, by 8:00 a.m. on the day of the ride. If that notice is posted, the ride leaders will not be at the start. Typically, if a ride is canceled prior to 08:00 a.m., registrants will be notified by email by the Cascade Bicycle Club following the decision to cancel. So please make sure that emails coming from Cascade are not being sent to your Spam Folder.
Ride Notes: All riders should bring spare tube, tools, patch kit, pump, and skills to fix flats; a phone and a plan for rescue if your bike fails; and snacks and water. Waiting for mechanical issues will be at the discretion of the ride leader. It’s spring, so please dress appropriately and use fenders with mudflaps on your bike or you will be asked to ride at the back of the group. Please download or print the Ride with GPS route if needed, ride leaders will not have copies.
This ride will start at Tibbetts Valley Park in Issaquah (skate park parking lot, please see the map below) and you must be ready to ride at 10:00. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group. This week's ride will be 24.5 miles and will loop Lake Sammamish counter clockwise. A port-a-potty is available at the start but no water is available so please fill up at home. If needed, you can also use the Restrooms at the other side of Tibbetts park, near the ballfields. However, please be careful not to park near the ballfields, as parking is time-limited to 2 hours in that area. Please allow sufficient time if you think you may need to do this.
